Children’s Day Celebration!
“The children of today will make the India of tomorrow.”
-Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru
Children’s Day is celebrated in India to commemorate the birth anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, independent India’s first Prime Minister, who was fond of and loved by children.
The corridors and the classrooms of Delhi Private School, RAK came alive with the throbbing energy of our students on campus, who clearly knew it was their day today! The walls of the school, adorned with balloons and buntings made our children smile wide, while receiving a chocolate in the middle of their lessons lit up their faces.
The teachers had planned a few games and activities for their respective classes that certainly brought immense joy to them as they frolicked with their peers and teachers alike.
To make their day even more special, the school screened movies, ‘The Toy Story’ for the kindergarten and ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ for grades I-VII. The students were seen rejoicing and cheering for their favourite characters.
Ms Karunakaran, the Principal had a significant message for the students on this occasion. She quoted Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru and encouraged the students to be ethical, passionate, and curious to give our country the leaders we deserve in the future!
